When I started my business, I spent WAY too much time writing proposals I didn’t win, and getting underpaid for the good work I was doing. By the end of each event, I felt overworked, undervalued and taken advantage of.
But the thing I learned is that my clients will never value me more than I value myself. And if my messaging doesn’t reflect my unique skills and passions I bring to the table, I’ll spend all my time selling clients who were not destined for me (and that’s when selling REALLY feels like work).

In the past 8 years, I’ve built an audience of 35,000+ event professionals around the world and been able to speak nationally, consult, host our own events, run a podcast and make more reliable revenue.

I am a professional development junkie, so I listen to podcasts, go to conferences, read articles and books, etc. But nothing has made a major impact on my business like Ignite. First of all, having a program that is specific to event planners was one thing that set this apart from other growth opportunities I have done in the past.
Secondly, having someone personally guiding me on the path was huge. Liz offers so much knowledge and shows you how to look at your business with a new perspective that can truly impact growth. And getting to experience this with others made it a wonderful experience. This program has given me the tools I needed to figure out the kind of work I really want to be doing while at the same time, and sometimes more importantly, the kind of work I DON'T want to be doing.
Because of Ignite I will be making a major pivot in my business, which is exciting and not as scary as it would be doing it alone. But even without the major pivot, minor shifts have caused me to let go of low-paying events and clients that do not align with my ideal work, which opened the door to new opportunities that are higher paying, and the kind of work I want to be doing. Even if the program was over now, I would call it a success. My revenue will be higher this year than it was last year due to this program alone. And we still have several months of the program to go!
