We talked to Zaida Khaze, inventor of the Wiggletot Diaper Changer
First of all, please tell our readers about you – what is the company all about?
I created a diaper changing set when I had difficulty changing my first wiggly baby at 5 months old. This is Zaida, a mom of two girls and of the Wiggletot Diaper Changer (www.wiggletot.com), a solution that makes diaper changing easy and mess-free thanks to a changing pad cover and detachable vest combo (complete with attachable toys) that keeps baby in one place and entertained, letting mom or dad easily whip through the changing process.
What were the 3 keys to getting the company off the ground – where did you invest your time?
I invested my time in seeing if there was a need for my product before investing in manufacturing through a prototype video https://youtu.be/8O5_oAgw_xc and Survey Monkey. The rest of my time was spent growing my business through building my website and validating my business by obtaining press.
Just having participated in the Amplify Your Brand Workshop with Sabina Hitchen and Janine Just, what role do live events play in your branding and marketing initiatives?
Live events play an instrumental role in branding and marketing Wiggletot. I learned many new pr tips from media experts in my target market. Plus, I made a few connections with experts that carried on after the event was over through social media.
What was a successful social media campaign you hosted that showed great engagement and traction?
My Facebook social media campaign that showed the most traction was a “When To Use My Product video. The video reached over 10,000 people organically which was a first for me in two days.
Finally, what is your favorite app?
My favorite app is Canva. I love how simple it is to build posts and they store all of your uploads. That’s a great feature for adding logos. I combine that with Pic Monkey which is great
