Event Tech of the Week: @EventsQR

Friday, September 28th, 2012

I love, love, love all things events and technology. If you can’t tell by my tweets, Facebook posts and all my other social media interactions, I love to talk about events and the tools that help us do what we do better. In June 2011, I partnered with an organization called imbookin to bring you PlannerTech – an event technology showcase. What is the “problem” that your tool seeks to solve?

Every event has its own QR code. Scanning this unique QR code the users’ smartphone will be able to quickly access the agenda and explanation of the event that is taking place in that exact moment. Thanks to the navigational buttons they will also be able to see the past and future scheduled events.

We can also provide a microsite for the event so people can not only see the agenda but the location, information about the speakers, etc.

And when things don’t go as planned, people who are grateful can put failure into perspective.

The success of prominent female leaders such as Facebook‘s Sheryl Sandberg and Yahoo‘s Marissa Mayer are bringing more attention to women in the tech sphere. But beyond the Sandbergs and the Mayers, there’s a crop of women who are not only leading, but also launching tech startups.
