What is the “problem” that your tool seeks to solve?eVenues aims to make finding and renting smaller-scale meeting & event spaces easier. Today, these spaces are not only hard to find, but there is little information available about them (e.g. pricing, setup configuration & availability). Getting someone to answer you back can also take days if not weeks, at best. Most important, eVenues can help reduce the cost of holding an event by enabling customers to compare and negotiate pricing. Tomorrow, eVenues strives to make shopping for space easy, fun, and simple.
What is the best audience for this tool? Corporate events? Social? Other? Large? Small? The tool is designed and built for consumers, entrepreneurs, business people, and event planners who are focused on planning smaller events.
What does your tool help event planners do better? With eVenues, it’s now easier to search smaller venues and find key information. Due to the recent economic challenges, many companies are downsizing their events. As a result, both planners and administrators are challenged with finding more affordable, alternative venue options. Our content rich listings save planners the pain of going back and forth with venues over little details. Not only that, but our advanced search feature allows you to search by your A/V requirements, catering options, and WIFI availability or whatever else you may need. Finally, if you just want to browse, you can look at our lists of venues per city. We’re still expanding our venue selection in the Midwest and East Coast, but we do have a respectable selection of venues on the West Coast, including venues in Seattle, Portland and Los Angeles. From these list pages, you can use our handy filters to zero in on what you’re looking for.
How is your tool different from/better than the competition? The vision for eVenues is to be the destination marketplace for all types of meeting and event spaces. We don’t limit ourselves to just conference and boardrooms. We include spaces ranging from classrooms, creative spaces or dance studios to production studios. In addition, unlike lead generation directory sites, eVenues provides dynamic scheduling and direct-booking capabilities. This makes it much easier for customers to see actual availability and secure the space instantly. In addition, for smaller unique venues who have never rented their space before, eVenues gives them a FREE scheduling application to use.
What is the single coolest feature of eVenues? No user registration is required. Just search, compare, and book!
Anything else we need to know? With most startup Web companies, the emphasis is on employing key programmers and engineers. However, at eVenues, we employ both experienced meeting planners and hospitality professionals who not only work one-on-one with customers, but also assist in designing key work processes around venue acquisition and customer sales. The team has learned a lot in the last three years, but given our vision, we have a long way to go.
