Event Tech of the Week: @TopTablePlanner

I love, love, love all things events and technology. If you can’t tell by my tweets, Facebook posts and all my other social media interactions, I love to talk about events and the tools that help us do what we do better. In June 2011, I partnered with an organization called imbookin to bring you PlannerTech – an event technology showcase. This weekly blog series is going to help continue to expose you to new tools you need to be aware of as an event planner. Also, in case you missed it, PlannerTech could be coming soon to your area!

Today, we’re talking about Top Table Planner

What is the “problem” that your tool seeks to solve?
Arranging the seating plan (especially for weddings) can be one of the toughest and most stressful aspects of planning an event. Many opt for Post-It (sticky) notes or scraps of paper which ends up getting complicated and messy, and it’s easy to ‘lose’ guests this way! It can also make last minute changes a nightmare!

Seating planning tools such as TopTablePlanner make arranging your seating plan a breeze.

What is the best audience for this tool? Corporate events? Social? Other? Large? Small?
TopTablePlanner is geared towards small to medium-sized events – generally up to 500 or so attendees, but we’ve seen more! It tends to get used a lot to plan weddings, but is equally suited to other events such as corporate functions, charity fundraisers, gala dinners and anniversary parties.

What does your tool help event planners do better?
Quickly and easily plan seating and manage RSVP status and meal options. It’s also incredibly easy to communicate and share seating plans with the venue, catering staff etc.

How is your tool different from/better than the competition?
Simplicity and ease of use. Our aim has always been to make the software as simple and easy to use as it possibly can be. A user should be able to open the software and get going in seconds and from the feedback we receive, this is something we do well.

We want our users to focus on arranging their guests, not on figuring out how to use complicated features that most don’t actually need.

What is the single coolest feature of your product?
To our knowledge, TopTablePlanner is the only seating planning tool available that is fully-functional on iPads and smartphones as well as via the web browser on a PC or Mac.

This means our users can edit their seating plan from home, work, on the train or even at the venue itself!

Anything else we need to know?

TopTableplanner is priced from $20 for individual users and a fully-functional free trial is available from the website – http://www.toptableplanner.com/demo.php

For professional event planners, we can also offer substantial discounts for volume purchases. Please contact us for more details – http://www.toptableplanner.com/contact.php
