Back in April of this year, the stars aligned and we got connected with serial entrepreneur Claudia Chan. Claudia had just launched a new media brand for women – ClaudiaChan.com – and was about to throw her launch event – a HUGE undertaking for only 10 weeks of planning. She envisioned an entire week of events for women – hosted by various women-centric organizations in NYC culminating in a Remarkable Women’s Cocktails and Conversations event. I met Claudia in her Soho apartment and immediately began to see the vision and the possibilities. I added in my thoughts and expertise to their great ideas and S.H.E. Summit Week was born. Taking place from June 18-24, we ended up hosting about 42 events that week – collaborating with over 35 organizations and several hundred attendees. It was an event planning experience unlike any other that I have done so far and it was a great learning opportunity and confidence-builder. Today, I want to share some of the behind-the-scenes of the event and what it looked like as it all came together. I took the behind-the-scenes photos so please excuse the quality

To pull off an event of this scale, we set up a working station at the home base venue. Armed with only laptops and one printer, the team worked tirelessly throughout the week to communicate with attendees and organizers.

A team of 10+ volunteers took HUNDREDS of products and turned them into 400 amazing gift bags for the Remarkable Women's Cocktails and Conversations event.

We kicked off the week with the Press Breakfast - an exclusive event for the partner organizations and select press. It was a great opportunity for those invested in the week of events to celebrate their work and make connections for their organizations.

The week was filled with panels, make-over sessions, jewelry classes and more - all hosted by women organizations who are making an impact in NYC and around the world!

Towards the end of the week, we hosted the Remarkable Women's Cocktails and Conversations Event - a panel event featuring Claudia Chan, Agapi Stassinopoulis, Lauren Bush Lauren and Alyse Nelson. The panel was all about Dreaming and Doing Big Things - and was followed by networking amongst the attendees.

The room was packed tuned into the panel on Thursday night. Many attendees learned a lot and found the inspiration to pursue the next big thing in their own life.
All in all, the experience as the Event Director of S.H.E. Summit Week was an amazing one. I was able to implement what I know about events and share my experience with the team – and I learned a lot in return. I look forward to being involved in the future and will continue to share what ClaudiaChan.com is doing in the lives of women around the world. Stay tuned!
