Event Tech of the Week: PerfectTablePlan

I love, love, love all things events and technology. If you can’t tell by my tweets, Facebook posts and all my other social media interactions, I love to talk about events and the tools that help us do what we do better. In June, I partnered with an organization called Pogby to bring you PlannerTech – an event technology showcase. This weekly blog series is going to help continue to expose you to new tools you need to be aware of as an event planner. Also, in case you missed it, PlannerTech could be coming soon to your area!

Today, we’re talking about PerfectTablePlan

Company/Tool Name: PerfectTablePlan Website: http://www.perfecttableplan.com/ Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/perfecttableplan What is the “problem” that your tool seeks to solve? Getting the best possible seating arrangement in the least time. Anyone who has tried to do the seating in Excel or using Post-It notes knows what a tedious, time-consuming and error prone task this can be. It is hardly surprising when you consider that there are more ways to arrange just 60 guests in 60 seats than there are atoms in the universe.

What is the best audience for this tool? Corporate events? Social? Other? Large? Small? Everything from a small wedding receptions or bar mitzvah, right the way up to the biggest seated charity and corporate events. PerfectTablePlan has been used successfully for events with over 3000 guests. What does your tool help event planners do better? The whole process of planning a seated event. From importing the guest data, creating the floor plan and assigning seats, right the way through to printing charts, plans and place cards. How is your tool different from/better than the competition? Depth. We have been working on the software continuously since 2005 and it has a lot of features that other seating planners don’t have. Also our software runs locally on your Windows/Mac computer, rather than on the web. This gives us a number of advantages in terms of responsiveness, richness of features and data security. What is the single coolest feature of Perfect Table Plan? We’ve got lots of cool features, but I guess the biggest one is the automatic seat assignment. You just tell PerfectTablePlan which guests you would like to sit together (or apart!) and it does some clever mathematics to assign seats according to these preferences. You can then fine tune as necessary using drag and drop. This can save a *lot* of time. Anything else we need to know? PerfectTablePlan is very affordable (from just $29.95 per user), is available for Windows and Mac and you can download and try it for free: http://www.perfecttableplan.com/html/download.html . We would be happy to answer any questions: http://www.perfecttableplan.com/html/contact_us.html
