As many of you know, I work full-time in addition to running Liz King Events. It’s hard to take time off and I have to be quite picky about the events I attend during the week. However, when I first heard about Event Camp East Coast, I knew I had to attend and here’s why:
My #2 Reason: The People
I’ve never met an #eventprofs I didn’t like and that’s the truth. The event community on Twitter is so vibrant and filled with men and women with amazing hearts, creativity and inspiration. I’m especially looking forward to meeting those who I have only held virtual conversations with. Eric Lukazewski, Heidi Thorne, Jenise Fryatt and more- watch out! Here I come! I know it’s going to be an amazing time!
My #1 Reason: The Experimentation
Who better to try a concept with than the creator and other event professionals? I love the idea that we’re going to test out the “Conferences that Work” model written by Adrian Segar. It’s going to be so much fun and I know that we’ll learn a lot that can be shared with the greater community that can’t make it. This will be my first Event Camp and I’ve already learned so much from the previous ones that I couldn’t attend through the virtual components. While I understand that this is going to be a different format, I know that there will be a ton of learning and sharing and that makes the experience all the richer.
If you’re going to Event Camp, please feel free to add the reasons you’re going! I can’t wait to see everyone!
